Design & Build

Design and build is one method of construction that provides owners with a single point of contact for both the design and construction phases of a project. The design and build process starts with estimation, assessments and pre-construction to architecture, subcontracting and construction. All contracts with companies, such as subcontractors, and suppliers are managed as part of the design and build agreement.

Project Management

If you have your own architect and completed drawings Lyons Build can project manage as the main contractor quoting on all the construction works. Lyons Build will have overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a project.
What are the roles and responsibilities of a Construction Project Manager?
A Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a project. They must have a combination of skills including an ability to ask questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts, as well as more general management skills.

Building Methods

Both traditional and Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) construction methods begin in the same way. Planning, design, approvals, site preparation and development are all required.
Traditional Construction Method
The traditional method of construction has for a long time, been the accepted norm. A graduated approach, the process of building using the traditional method is steady progress. Foundations are laid, walls are built, roofs are added, and then the interior of the building is created.

SIPs

SIPs are a quick and environmentally friendly construction option when building new homes, conversion and extensions. The SIPs are pre-insulated, saving the need for additional cavity insulation. Once the build is erected all other works are then carried out at the same time, working to a prompt completion.
